We have three convenient locations in KwaZulu-Natal: Head Office at 188 Langalibalele Street, Pietermaritzburg; Durban Campus at Zumaysha Building, 21 Field St (Joe Slovo), Durban Central; and Pinetown Campus.

Do you help with university and bursary applications?

Yes! We go beyond just teaching. Our dedicated staff helps students with university application forms and processes, bursary and scholarship applications, NSFAS applications, career guidance and counselling, and finding safe accommodation for students from far areas.

What is the difference between NSC and ASC exams?

NSC (National Senior Certificate) is the current CAPS curriculum matric exam for learners who wrote matric from 2008 onwards using the new syllabus. ASC (Amended Senior Certificate) is the old syllabus exam for adults over 21 who either never completed matric or wrote under the old curriculum. Both are nationally recognized qualifications.

Lithemba Academy is a Department of Education registered finishing centre. For 2027 we are taking Grade 8–12 full timers and full-time repeaters, as well as learners who wish to upgrade or improve their matric results.

Pupils are offered the opportunity to work towards being accepted into the University of their choice to study for any career of their choosing. We do this by providing them with the Best tutors and by giving them the necessary attention that they require to gain confidence in their studies.
Our students are also provided with University and Bursary application forms as well as teachers who are ready help make their application process easier.
We assist students that have travelled far from home to find safe accomodations for the duration of their stay with us.

Yes, absolutely! Lithemba Academy is officially registered with the South African Department of Basic Education. Our EMIS (Education Management Information System) number is 500507011. This means all certificates and qualifications obtained through our institution are nationally recognized and valid for university applications and employment.

Anyone who has previously written matric exams can register to upgrade their results. We are also taking Grade 8–12 full timers and full-time repeaters for 2027 (new students, matric repeaters and dropouts). This includes:

Grade 8–12 full-time learners and full-time repeaters
Learners who passed but want higher marks for university admission
Learners who failed one or more subjects
Learners wanting to add new subjects to their certificate
Adults over 21 can write ASC (Amended Senior Certificate) exams

For Full Timers & Full-Time Repeaters (Grade 8–12):

The registration fee is R2,000 and is non-refundable. This fee covers administration, registration with the Department of Education examination system, and secures your place at our academy. Registration payment can be made in full or through a payment plan over 4 months maximum. Monthly tuition fees range from R500/month (1 subject) to R1,800/month for Grade 8–12 full timers and full-time repeaters (11 months).
